The more we integrate writing, the more students will see the realistic use of the skills and strategies that we are learning as well as become more comfortable with the concepts (Professional Knowledge for the Teaching of Writing, 2016). |
READING INSTRUCTION POSITION STATEMENT
Using the balanced literacy framework helps ensure that teachers are providing students with explicit practice and instruction of specific concepts in order to help them advance and perform on the level that is appropriate to their developmental stage. |
